Anticipating the release of Chris Coopers ‘CHOPPED’ coffee table photo book, we caught up one sunny but also wet Kensington afternoon in Victoria, Australia. We scoured the location trying to find an appropriate place to shoot. We managed to have ourselves interrogated by security while snooping and pretty soon found that we apparently required a signed authority to shoot there. After a little banter with security we managed to avoid the need for the permit when he realised we were harmless and just wanted to create something (the whole building is actually dedicated to studio spaces for creatives).

The sun was shining and things were looking up as we proceeded to shoot a few different takes outside of the alleyway prior to moving into the area where the main shoot would happen. We managed to get through most of the shoot scott free, but upon trying to start using Blu-Tac to stick all of the photos to the gorgeous old red brickwork the rains started rolling in and the sun disappeared behind the clouds. We immediately thought that we would be giving up on the day and would be coming back on the hour and a half journey for the final shots.

We braved our way through the rains taking shelter under the covered area of the alleyway while the rains came down around us. The rain eventually stopped and the sun popped its head out just long enough for us to finish the shoot, jump in the car and head home.
